The long-awaited 2012 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival lineup is finally out, and while several headliners are intriguing, to me, the festival's pretty light on true rock bands/artists. Yes, the Red Hot Chili Peppers fit the bill, but for the most part, it looks very much like the Roo is getting back to it's jam roots this year.
If Bonnaroo is a must for you, mark your calendars: The four day music festival in Manchester, Tennessee, kicks off on June 7 and wraps on June 10, 2012.The entire Bonnaroo 2012 lineup is available now on the music festival's official website here. You can also create custom lineups (very handy for these events, because it's literally impossible to see all of the acts on any given day) and find out detailed info about tickets. Planning ahead is key with these big music festivals - the tickets can be pricey, the acts are plentiful and unless you want to sleep in a tent somewhere (hey, it's fun sometimes), you'll need somewhere to crash in-between shows.
After just a quick glance at the Bonnaroo lineup for this year, I see only a handful of actual rock acts, but the ones I see look like fun: the Chili Peppers, of course, as they always put on a great show...yeah, I'll see them. Alice Cooper is also on the bill this year, but the one that excites me the most is Flogging Molly. If you haven't seen Flogging Molly live, put it on the "to see" or "to do" list (or whatever you call it). And oooh, I just noticed that Bad Brains is in this year's lineup, too. Wow.
This year's Bonnaroo features well over 150 different bands on more than a dozen stages, so honestly, you'll be able to find something you like on any given day/night. Tickets go on sale this Saturday (February 18), so if you're thinking of pulling the trigger on this one, you might want to do it soon.
Anyone else see anything on the Bonnaroo 2012 lineup list that looks exciting? Let me know.
